First Contact (Mini Board)

The First Contact board explores one of humanity’s oldest questions: what if we are not alone and what if something out there has already heard us?

Inspired by the Dark Forest Theory, this design imagines a universe filled with hidden civilisations, each remaining silent to avoid revealing its location. Humanity sent its signal into the darkness. Something answered and now it is reaching back. I’ve personally always been fascinated by this concept, so here’s my take on the idea, hope you like it!

The alien represents the unknown. The surrounding planets and orbital paths reflect the vastness of space and the countless worlds that may exist beyond our own. Its outstretched hand leaves the encounter open to interpretation: an invitation, a warning or the moment we realise that first contact was never ours to control.

We called into the darkness. Something heard us.

Whether used for balance training, displayed as functional art, or kept as a reminder of the mysteries waiting beyond our world, this board is designed for those fascinated by space, uncertainty and the possibility that we may not be the ones doing the discovering.

Crafted from premium pine, precision laser engraved, hand sanded and finished with natural food-grade oils to enhance the timber grain and protect the board for adventures to come.
